Upstairs at 5 South Brae is a computer room with an old PC, a printer and a safe. The safe code is in an email spread across three floppies.
Before you startPREREQUISITES
- South Brae House KeyLost and Found locker (772). Opens 5 South Brae, south of the area entrance
- Disk Case Key5 South Brae, bedroom at the end of the upstairs hall, bedside drawer
- Grouped Floppy Disks (1/3, 2/3, 3/3)Case to the right of the safe in the computer room — open with the Disk Case Key
- Fix-A-Disk! software diskAtlas Computers on the ground level, another case in the side room — same key

HINT 01 / 03
One of the three disks is damaged and has to be repaired first.
HINT 02 / 03
Load the repair software; when it asks for a disk to scan, swap in disk 2 to fix it.
HINT 03 / 03
Once repaired, insert the disks from 1 upward to unpack them, then switch the printer on and print the email.

- 01Turn on the PC and put Fix-A-Disk! in the middle drive.
- 02Click through until the screen says “Insert a disk to scan.” Then back out — don't pick Cancel — and remove the software disk.
- 03Insert disk 2/3 and choose Repair Volume.
- 04Remove it, then insert 1/3 (confirm Unzip to RAM) → 2/3 → 3/3.
- 05Turn on the printer left of the desk and print MANUAL.EML.
After you solve it
- Printout: Reciprocating Compressor (clue). The part number on it opens the safe beside you

I insert disk 2, choose Repair Volume, and it says “Repair Aborted”.
Almost always step 2: when the screen says “Insert a disk to scan.” you need to back out, not press Cancel. Cancel kills the repair tool. Put Fix-A-Disk! back in, get to that prompt, back out, then swap in disk 2.
